Mr. C.W. Abhayaratne
Managing Director
Mr. C. W. Abhayaratne joined the Company in 1964 at the age of 19 and learning the business from the bottom to the top, he took over as Managing Director in 1986. After leading the diversification of the Company into the telecommunications industry in the late 1970’s, Mr. Abhayaratne oversaw the rapid expansion and further diversification of Fentons in the ELV industry covering Fire Alarm, UPS, Network solutions, Security, PA and SMATV systems. He has been a leading figure in the construction industry having held key posts in the Specialist Constructors Association and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce since the mid 1980’s. Notable amongst these are;
- Past Chairman – Ceylon Engineering Trades Association (Affiliated to Ceylon Chamber)
- Former Committee Member – Ceylon Chamber of Commerce
- Former Member – Advisory Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce
- Past Chairman – Infrastructure Sub-Committee (Ceylon Chamber of Commerce)
- Past Chairman – Inaugural Committee of the Major and Specialist Contractors Association
- Former Director – Specialist Constructors Association
Mr. Abhayaratne is also a former Chairman of the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka and a former member of the National Olympic Committee.
Mr. C.W. Abhayaratne continues to be the name synonymous with Fentons Limited, having imbued the Company with his dedication to providing “Technology You Can Trust”.
Mr. A.E.W Abhayaratne
Executive Director
After working for sixteen years in the Plantation Industry, joinedFentons in 1984 and was responsible for its Administration and Personnel functions. Over 27 years of work experience at Fentons.
Has been a member of the Council of The National Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka from 2001 to date, during which period he worked as Chairman of the Power and Energy Committee (from 2002 to 2006). In 2005, he was nominated by the Chamber as one of the Employer Representatives for Wage Tribunals in the Standards Division of the Department of Labour.
Mr. Ranil I. Senaratna
Director
BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MBA (Merit), Corporate Member (Chartered Engineer) Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, and Member, Institution of Engineering and Technology (former Institution of Electrical Engineers), UK. He has over 36 years of experience in HV and LV (Ceylon Electricity Board and Fentons Limited), Telecommunications Engineering, and small hydroelectric projects design and installation work. He has extensive experience in Building Electrical Engineering Services in the Electrical Divisions of Fenton and Ceylon Transport Board. Serves on the Professional Review panel and the Electrical Installation Design Course of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
Mr. Senaratne was invited to the Board in 1998 and continued to serve as a Director of the Company.
Mr Chandev W. Abhayaratne
Director and Chief Operating Officer

Bachelors’ Degree majoring in Business Management and Economics from Washington College, Maryland, USA. Over 15 years of working experience, including 06 years in the financial sector in various companies in Sri Lanka. He was the CEO of a BOI Telecom Company – a Joint Venture between US and Thai corporations. Prior to returning to Sri Lanka, was employed as a Senior Financial Services Officer at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. His technical knowledge in the engineering fields that Fentons operates in is supported by formal training both in Sri Lanka and abroad.
Has been a Director of the Company since 2001 and appointed COO in 2010.
Mr Nandike Fonseka
Director and Chief Financial Officer

He joined Fentons Limited in 1996 and currently is the Director/CFO. of the Company. He is a Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. U.K. (ACMA). He has over 25 years’ experience behind him having worked at Senior Managerial Positions in reputed Companies. Preliminary Training being at KPMG Ford Rhodes Thornton & Company.
Mr. Fonseka was appointed to the Board of Fentons Limited in 2006 and appointed as CFO. of the Company in 2010.
Mr. Ruan W. Abhayaratne
Head of Human Resources

Bachelors’ Degree majoring in Sociology from Washington College, Maryland, USA, and Post Graduate Diploma in Business & Financial Administration from ICASL.
He is completing the National Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka.
He has over 10 years of experience in the HR field in blue chip listed companies in Sri Lanka.
He was appointed HOHR in 2010.
Mr. Ramesh Karunaratne

Over 25 years of experience in electrical and electronic engineering and industrial marketing. Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering by the City and Guilds Institute, UK. Conferred as a Chartered Marketer by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in UK. Recognised as Registered Marketer for Asia Pacific region by the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation. Awarded the status of Certified Professional Marketer by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. Qualified as a Certified Management Accountant by CMA (Australia).
